This policy explains the small set of cookies and similar technologies used by vrguard.ca. We try to keep this short because there isn't much to say — we don't run ad networks, analytics trackers, or third-party remarketing.
vrguard.ca sets strictly necessary cookies to remember basic site state (such as your "skip to content" preference if you used it). That's it. We do not use advertising cookies, we do not use cross-site tracking, and we do not embed social media widgets that track you.
1. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file your browser stores at the request of a website. Some are essential (they keep the site working); others are optional (analytics, advertising, personalisation). You can clear or block cookies at any time in your browser settings.

3. What we don't use
To be explicit about what we don't have on this site:
- No Google Analytics, Plausible, Fathom, or any other analytics platform.
- No Meta (Facebook) Pixel, TikTok Pixel, LinkedIn Insight, or any advertising tracker.
- No embedded YouTube videos, Google Maps iframes, or social widgets that set tracking cookies.
- No A/B testing tools, session-replay software, or heatmap trackers.
- No third-party chat widgets that profile visitors.
4. Third-party requests
When your browser loads a page from vrguard.ca, it makes a small number of requests to third-party domains to load assets we use. Specifically:
- fonts.googleapis.com & fonts.gstatic.com — to load the Orbitron, Space Grotesk and JetBrains Mono web fonts. Google may log the request but does not set tracking cookies for this purpose.
- Unsplash image CDN — to load the photographs on the homepage and pricing page. Unsplash's privacy practices apply to those requests.
These are passive asset loads, not tracking. We do not have a business relationship with these providers beyond paying customers of their free tiers.
5. Your choices
You can block all cookies from vrguard.ca and the site will still work. The skip-link, scroll-state, and form-draft features will simply not persist between page loads.
Browser-level controls:
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data.
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data.
- Firefox: Preferences → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data.
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions.
You can also use private/incognito browsing to prevent cookie storage entirely for a session.
6. Changes
If we ever add a new cookie (for example, if we launch analytics), we'll update this page first, change the "last updated" date, and — for anything beyond strictly necessary — ask for your consent.
